Pepper Pot is one of the most authentic Jamaican restaurants in the Rochester area. I've been a customer for seven years. The Head Chef, Marlene is wonderful. Her jerk chicken, oxtail, curry chicken, steamed cabbage , rice and peas, plantains and fried dumplings are our favorites. The ambience is perfect, the reggae music and cloth lined tables are perfect for a business lunch or dinner.

My mom and I were craving Jamaican food, saw Peppa Pot was near and decided to take a chance on a new place. To our surprise the customer service was amazing. The owner (I think) makes some of the drinks herself, and was beyond nice and inviting. The ambiance of the place was very inviting. When I heard the music this is when I knew I'd be coming back. I got ox tails with rice & peas, with callaloo (instead of cabbage). I've never had callaloo before but yes yes yes. it takes like a healthier version of mustard greens. The oxtails were so tender. the gravy was so flavorful. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. With each meal comes a biscuit and fried plantain, which is refreshing palate cleansing. My mother got curry chicken with rice & peas, and cabbage. Which she said was very good. We both split a chicken and beef patty, which definitely has some nice heat too it. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken patty (my mom did like it though) but I loved the spice and flavor from the beef. I took 2 vegetable patties home to my boyfriend who is a vegetarian and he said those patties were ok. He personally said they didn't have as much flavor and spice that he would like but they were ultimately pretty good. I would absolutely recommend to anyone craving a piece of Jamaica. 100/10. A weird location, with not much parking but once you're inside you know you chose the right place.

Ox tail was delicious. Also loved the in house made iced tea, curry chicken, plantains, rice and cabbage. Very nice interior/ambiance with friendly prompt service too. Definitely would recommend to others

Had an absolutely wonderful delivery order from Peppa Pot today! My partner and I split the medium size Curry Chicken with a beef patty and neither disappointed. The patty was super flaky and moist and at ~$3 this would be an ideal pastry snack if you're bopping around downtown and want something delicious. The curry chicken was moist and fall off the bone delicious. I see some reviews that mention the flavor could be bumped up a notch in the rice and chicken, and I can see where they're coming from. I still think it was a 5 star experience with the dish being balanced and filling. The size to prices ratio is unbeatable, especially considering the plantain and sides that come with are super filling as well. I am SO excited I finally tried this spot (after meaning to for ~7 years) and can't wait to go enjoy dining inside someday very soon.

One of the places that has it all. Peppa pot Making delicious food offering the best service and super generous with the size of portions. Ordered from Peppa pot here multiple times And not even once has disappointed me. If you're into this type of food or if you have never tried it before I highly recommend it. My favorite is the beef with all its flavors. As I said service is super nice and they really appreciate you as a customer. One of the places I'm glad to recommend.

I spent two years in Rochester, and in that time i must have eaten at Peppa Pot 546,763 times. It's the best Jamaican food you'll have in New York State. Get the the oxtail with dumplings.

A small spot that you could miss if you were driving and not looking for it! Parking is on the street so pay attention to the signs. Once you get close enough, you can smell the good cooking! A plate runs from $11 to $20 depending on what you order. I got the small Peppa Steak with rice & peas. A large plate could easily be split between 2 people. The interior is small and homey. Took my food to go and grabbed a bottle of Ting. The meat was tender and the rice was perfectly cooked. Would have liked to see some Oxtail stew on the menu though.

Bring a salt shaker to this establishment. Because then you wil have A Salt with a Deadly Peppa Pot. What to get: Jerk Chicken, homemade Jamaican Drinks such as Sorrel and Peanut Punch What else: Biscuits, everything If it were a place where you came to get your toes done all coral or hot pink or some other awesome color, then it would be the Pedi Pot. Over in the 716, there are a few great Jamaican places (Kalypso, Dr. Bird's, Caribbean Experience, Island Mix, Michelle's), the latter couple of which are actually Haitian and Trini, but here in the 716 there is just one go-to destination for Non-Latin Caribbean food, and that is the Peppa Pot! It's absolutely phenomenal! If it were located in PA, then it would be the Penna Pot. Home-cooking at its finest. Delicious jerk chicken with wonderful sauce. My notes say "excellent jerk chicken, will return," and that sums it up really. Some of the best I've tasted anywhere. Dirt cheap (if you get the smallest portions), and lots of other goodies on the menu too but I can't stray from the JC. If it were Captain Ahab, then it would be the Peg-Leg Pot. Except when it comes to the drinks. My word! I love Jamaican drinks. Sometimes she has homemade stuff like Sorrel (you have to try it to know why it's so good) and Peanut Punch and other delights. If she has them, make sure you get them. Trust me. If it were full of devil worshippers, then it would be the Pentagram Pot. Oh wait, it is! Shh, don't tell anyone. Not even Miro Satan! My one request is that they make their food juicier, pour that juice all over me baby! I had to ask for a couple of extra containers of juice/jerk sauce, which she was super super super nice about giving me, but I think the food would be even deliciouserer for everyone if she automatically provided that for all. If it were in Jordan, it would be the Petra Pot. Petra - wow. Can't wait to go there. My one request for the city of Rochester is that you please go here enough to keep it open so that when I come to town I can have Jerk Chicken. Just kidding - kind of. I really hope it stays around forever. The food is amazing and the owner is wonderful. And if it were a place where you could hire gigolos, rent boys, and pool guys, then it would be the Pecker Pot. And then, predictably, it would be 5 times as busy.
